About People's Pension
Our pension with purpose helps 7m+ members to save more than £39bn for their future.
Who we are
People’s Pension is the UK’s largest commercial master trust. We’re a workplace pension scheme relied on by businesses of all sizes – across all sectors – to provide secure pensions for their people.
Trusted
More than 100,000 employers nationwide trust us with managing over £39bn in member savings.
With an independent Trustee Board and no shareholders, our members can be confident their savings are overseen independently and always with their interests at heart.
How we support our members
We’ve built a pension for everyone by keeping things clear, accessible, and simple – helping millions of people save throughout their working lives and get ready for retirement.
That means
- Straightforward charges
- Continuous service improvements
- Our savings reward that puts money back into members’ pensions as their savings grow.
Our purpose
We’re here to help savers build financial foundations for life, providing tools and guidance to support members at every stage of saving.
We reinvest what we make back into member benefits
- Better service
- Clear charges
- Simpler digital tools.
And we share value through a savings reward (rebate) on the management charge.
Our history
People’s Partnership, the provider of People’s Pension, has over 80 years’ experience providing simple, straightforward products that help people save for retirement.
- Founded in 1942 to provide insurance for the construction industry, we’ve since evolved to support people working across every sector.
- In 2012, we launched our workplace pension – People’s Pension – offering streamlined investment choices, cost-effective charges, and jargon-free communications that make pensions easier to understand.
Today, we help one in five UK workers* build long-term financial security.
Our growth
Since 2012, we’ve grown rapidly.
We’re now the UK’s largest commercial master trust, responsible for looking after billions in member savings.
The size of our scheme gives us the influence and power to drive positive change across the whole industry. Through our research, insights and campaigning, we aim to make pensions fairer for all UK savers.
What makes us different?
- We make saving simple – through clear guidance and straightforward tools, we make saving easier to manage, helping you stay in control of your future.
- We’re built for members, not shareholders – decisions are made in your interests, so value goes into better service and tools for you.
- We push for positive change for everyone – we use our influence with government and regulators, backed by member insight, to create a simpler, fairer pensions system and better outcomes for all savers.
Strong governance
An independent Trustee Board oversees the scheme, making sure members’ interests always come first.
The Trustee can make impartial decisions focused on what’s best for members because it’s independent and free from commercial pressure. The Trustee sets the rules for how your savings are invested and what good service looks like, and it always holds us to account.
We’re also authorised and regulated by The Pensions Regulator (TPR), ensuring ongoing compliance and the highest standards of governance.
Built for people, not shareholders
Rather than paying profits to shareholders, we reinvest them to support members. This includes:
Best price guarantee
A best price guarantee, so multiple pensions can be combined and the lowest applicable charge applies.
Responsible investment
Our members’ futures matter to us. That’s why we invest responsibly and support sustainable economic growth across the UK. Guided by our Responsible Investment Policy, we invest savings to target long-term growth while considering the environment, how companies treat people, and how they’re run.
Social impact
We’re committed to creating a fairer future for everyone, not just our members.
As a responsible business, we partner with several organisations to deliver positive changes for people across the UK. Through student mentoring, skills programmes, community projects, volunteering, and more, we help empower individuals to shape brighter futures.
