You can opt out of your workplace pension in two ways:

• Call us on 0300 3301 280
• Opt out online

You’ll just need your customer number and National Insurance number handy.

You won’t be able to opt out until you’ve had your first contribution deducted and been enrolled into People’s Pension by your employer. If you opt out within one calendar month of being enrolled, you’ll receive a refund of your contributions.

Before you decide, think carefully. If you stop paying into your workplace pension, you’ll miss out on extra money from your employer and the government. This could mean you’ll have less income when you retire. 

If you opt out over the phone and we have your correct email address, we’ll send you an email to confirm.

To bring your pension over, simply log in to your online account and follow the steps.

Transferring your pension to another provider

Before you move your pension away, talk to us first. You could miss out on benefits we offer. We’ll answer your questions and make sure you understand your options.

If you’re waiting for a transfer update – whether it’s to us or another provider – email us at info@peoplespartnership.co.uk.

You might also need to contact the provider you’re moving from or to for the latest update.

Updates you can make yourself

You can change your home address, email address, telephone number or mobile number in your online account.

Just log in and go to the ‘Personal details’ page.

Updates we need to make for you

If you want to change your name (including title), National Insurance (NI) number or date of birth, we’ll need proof of your identity.

Check ‘List A’ in our ‘Confirming your identity‘ leaflet for examples of documents we accept.

In your email or letter, please include a short note explaining:

• Why you’re sending the document
• What details you’d like us to update

Important: To update your NI number, you’ll need to send us a letter from HM Revenue & Customs that shows your NI number.

Once you’re ready, you can make your request in your online account. 
Getting an update on your request

If you’ve asked to take your pension money, it can take up to four weeks for the payment to reach you.

If it’s been less than four weeks, you don’t need to contact us – we’ll update you instead.

If you have an email address linked to your account, we’ll email you from claimnotifications@peoplespartnership.co.uk to keep you updated. This is a no-reply mailbox. Please don’t email this address.
